Home?

We are tentatively, conditionally, owners of this house! Very exciting! We are awaiting a home inspection and then, in November, if all goes well, we will live there. Amazing. Feeling very grown-up.... marriage, and now home ownership! Embarrassingly grown-up.

Am thinking of making this blog less anonymous, ie: actually posting photos that might include myself in them. Just not sure how I feel about being fully "out" online. What do others think about this? I am assuming most people reading this already know me in real life anyway... does it make any difference?

  1. Oh my GOD, that house is fantastic! I can totally picture you in there surrounded by books and lil ones ;)

I know what you mean about anonymity online. After having various sites and social networking accounts over the past 10 years or so, I've learned that it's ok to reveal yourself online, but just never post anything you wouldn't want your co-workers/boss/friends/family to read. I post photos of myself (and cat) but I don't post photos of Dave without his approval first.

Anyway, all my fingers are crossed for you two and this beautiful home!

  3. I had the same dilemma when I started blogging...should I keep my identity a secret, do I want people to know who I am? I ended up wanting to write about what is going on in my life most of the time, so it didn't really make sense for me to stay in the blogging closet. I think most anonymous bloggers are writing controversial posts that could rub some people the wrong way. I don't think anyone is going to get offended by my redecorating / wedding planning / adventures in public transportation bits ;) Can't wait to find out more about your home search - we just wrapped ours up (unsuccessfully). I hope you'll stop by for a visit!! MANIC in The City

  5. Jenny! This house is amazing! I think I might want one, one day. Isn't it funny to realize how we resist 'adult' things...or at least I do. One day.

    Congrats!

(Maybe we could put an L7 poster in the home, hm?)

  6. We got the house! We move in November 19. Exciting, but lots of adult-style responsibilities are coming my way for sure.
